The Registrar of Co-operative Societies would like to thank all who took the time to provide their valuable comments and suggestions. The feedback given has been duly considered, with most of these helping to further shape the legislative amendments.

We would like to thank all respondents for their valuable comments and suggestions during the public consultation from 28 April to 26 May 2017. We will publish a summary of the key comments received on the MCCY website, together with our responses, in due course. The identity of the respondents will not be disclosed in the summary.

The Registrar of Co-operative Societies is seeking public feedback on the proposed amendments to the Co-operative Societies Act from 28 April to 26 May 2017. The proposed amendments aim to raise governance standards of credit co-operative societies to better safeguard members’ deposits, facilitate co-ops’ operations and enhance regulatory powers to better protect members’ interests.
