First launched in 2016, the Disability Sports Master Plan (DSMP) aimed to raise awareness of disability sports and expand access and opportunities for sports participation among persons with disabilities.
The DSMP was refreshed in 2024 following a series of engagements conducted by the Enabling Sports Taskforce (ESTF), with 850 stakeholders involved, including persons with disabilities, caregivers, educators, social service agencies, community partners, athletes and coaches.
DSMP 2024 seeks to create a more inclusive and connected society through 10 strategic moves focusing on three key strategic themes, with partnerships being a key enabler:
a) Increase accessibility to disability sports programmes and activities;
b) Enhance awareness of disability sports and inclusive sports activities;
c) Fulfill aspirations of persons with disabilities who desire and have the potential to do sports at the high performance level.
