On 14 April 2025, the Registry of Marriages (ROM) and Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM) will commence operations at the Esplanade Mall. This is the interim site while the current Canning Rise premises undergo redevelopment.
ROM and ROMM will offer onsite solemnisation services at the Esplanade Mall site on Saturdays to provide couples with greater convenience and flexibility as they embark on their marital journey.
From 17 May 2025, couples will be able to solemnise civil marriages on Saturdays from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Starting today, couples can book their preferred timeslot, up to six months in advance, via the Our Marriage Journey (OMJ) portal.
ROMM will be piloting Saturday solemnisation services, with selected slots available for Muslim marriages from October 2025. Couples are advised to check the OMJ portal for updates and slots availability. Muslim couples are also encouraged to consider community venues, such as mosques, to hold their solemnisations.
These enhancements are introduced in response to feedback from couples who prefer weekend ceremonies, which allow more family members and friends to attend. This reflects ROM and ROMM’s continued commitment to provide more accessible services.
Mr Timothy Pak, Registrar of Marriages, said: "By introducing solemnisation services on Saturdays, we are giving couples more options. We hope this will enable them to have a memorable start to their marriage journey surrounded by family and friends."
Mr Nor Razak Bakar, Registrar of Muslim Marriages said: “As ROMM embarks on a new chapter at the Esplanade Mall interim site, we remain committed to serve the needs of our Muslim community. We are piloting the solemnisation services on Saturday to assess how we can better support Muslim couples on their marital journey.”
Beyond service enhancements, ROM and ROMM will continue to offer curated marriage preparation programmes and resources such as the Our Marriage Journey Quiz via the OMJ portal (https://www.marriage.gov.sg). These initiatives aim to support couples in building strong, resilient relationships.
Members of the public may also call the ROM hotline at 6338 7808, the ROMM hotline at 6337 0207 for assistance.
