Relocation of Syariah Court and Tribunal for maintenance of parents

To provide better accessibility and to serve the public better, the Syariah Court and the Tribunal for Maintenance of Parents (TMP) will be moving out of the MCYS Building to a new building in Lengkok Bahru.

RELOCATION OF SYARIAH COURT AND TRIBUNAL FOR MAINTENANCE OF PARENTS TO SERVE THE PUBLIC BETTER

1. To provide better accessibility and to serve the public better, the Syariah Court and the Tribunal for Maintenance of Parents (TMP) will be moving out of the MCYS Building to a new building in Lengkok Bahru. Called the Family Link@Lengkok Bahru, the Syariah Court will occupy the third floor of the 8-storey building while the TMP will be located on the second floor, together with the Office of the Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents. The rest of the building will be occupied by the Red Cross Home for the Disabled.
2. The new Syariah Court and TMP premises will have better facilities and bigger waiting areas for the public. It will also have bigger court rooms with video conferencing facilities and more chamber rooms for court mediation and counselling sessions.
3. The Syariah Court will begin operations at the new premises on 21 December 2009. Its main enquiry line remains unchanged. Details of the new address and fax numbers are as follows:

5. Co-located with the TMP, the Office of the Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents will provide case monitoring and facilitate community options for conciliation to ensure that needy elderly parents receive prompt assistance. The public can call 6354 8534 for enquiries.
