Early migrants to Singapore from countries like China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia brought their cultural practices, and adapted them across generations into the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) practices found in Singapore today. These ICH practices are still evolving. They are influenced by the traditions, practices, and skills of communities found among the 5.7million people who call Singapore home.
This booklet showcases the different multicultural elements that make up Singapore’s diverse range of ICH. It also records the innovative ways members of the community ensure that ICH practices in Singapore are safeguarded for future generations.
