Mrs Rosa Huey Daniel to be appointed as the NAC's CEO

Mrs Rosa Huey Daniel will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Arts Council (NAC) with effect from 1 March 2017.

  1. Mrs Rosa Huey Daniel (陈慧), 53, will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Arts Council (NAC) with effect from 1 March 2017. Mrs Daniel is currently Deputy Secretary (Culture), MCCY. She will also continue as CEO of the National Heritage Board (NHB) to see to the completion of key projects until a new CEO at NHB is appointed.
  2. Mrs Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom in 1985. Her career in the public sector spans more than 30 years, with key postings in various Ministries. In 2005, Mrs Daniel received the Public Administration Medal (Silver) when she was Head (Strategic Policy Office) in Public Service Division and Director, Institute of Policy Development in Prime Minister’s Office.
  3. At MCCY, Mrs Daniel oversees policy formulation and implementation in the Arts and Culture sector. Over the past 4 years, she has been closely involved with key initiatives in the arts and culture, including establishment of the Visual Arts Cluster of museums, opening of the National Gallery Singapore, setting up of The Arts House Limited to spearhead the Singapore International Festival of Arts, and launch of the Cultural Matching Fund. She also led the S50 Programme Office secretariat to work on key cultural programmes for S50 celebrations in 2015.
  4. Mrs Daniel has a strong interest in arts and heritage, and a strong ability to connect with diverse stakeholders. Her concurrent appointment as DS (Culture) will also provide greater synergy between the Ministry’s role in shaping the wider cultural and heritage landscape, and NAC’s role in taking the Singapore arts scene forward.
