Update on the establishment of the Singapore College of Islamic Studies

Response to parliamentary question on the anticipated timeline for the establishment of the Singapore College of Islamic Studies and the first intake of students.

Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi: To ask the Minister for Social and Family Development and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs (a) what is the anticipated timeline for the formal establishment of the Singapore College of Islamic Studies; and (b) when will it be fully operational for the intake of its inaugural batch of students.

1. The Singapore College of Islamic Studies (SCIS) aims to develop our future Islamic religious teachers and scholars to provide sound and relevant religious guidance to Muslims in Singapore, in line with our multi-racial and multi-religious context.
